Why Earth Day and Reality Check Make Sense

Did you know that cigarette butts are the most littered items on earth. Given that fact alone, we at Reality Check celebrate in several ways. One example of how Reality Check youth across the state celebrate is by organizing cigarette butt pickups within their communities. Others table and bring awareness to things like the new face of tobacco waste, “Juul Butts”.

Did you know companies like the one that makes the Juul, have no plan on how to recycle their deadly products. This means everyday across the US, pods are being tossed in landfills, or worse to the ground only to leak toxins back into the environment. Even worse yet, many of these devices can only be used for so long. This means lithium batteries being sent to breakdown in landfills and our communities across the US.
